Studio portrait of NX20449 Private (Pte) Clifton Hartley Mudford, 2/30 Battalion, of Taree, NSW. A dairy farmer in civilian life, he enlisted on 5 June 1940. While a Prisoner of War (POW) of the Japanese in Thailand, Pte Mudford died of illness on 6 January 1944, aged 25.
