Description
Group portrait of patients at No. 3 Southern General Hospital, Milton Hill. Identified in the back row, third from the left is, 3253 Corporal Walter Charles Tozer, 45th Battalion, who was admitted to the hospital in August 1918 with a gunshot wound to the thigh. He was awarded a Military Medal for gallant conduct and prompt action at Villers-Bretonneux on 2 May 1918. A collection of relics and private records related to the service of Walter Tozer are held at the Australian War Memorial.
