Description
Souvenir program from a concert held during the First World War. This program is for a performance of Mendelssohn's oratorio 'Elijah' at 5pm on Friday 24 November 1916 at Westminster Abbey. The concert was presented by the Huddersfield Glee and Madrigal Society with the London Symphony Orchestra for members of overseas forces in London. Soloists during the performance were Carrie Tubb, Emily Cox, Phyllis Lett, Lottie Beaumont, Frank Mullings and Robert Radford. The accompanying organist was Sir Frederick Bridge.
