Item 2: Grand orchestral concert by the NSW State Conservatorium Orchestra of 80 performers.
Description
Souvenir program for a concert held after the First World War. This program is for a performance by the NSW State Conservatorium Orchestra conducted by Henri Verbrugghen. Henri Verbrugghen was Director of the NSW State Conservatorium of Music from 1915 to 1921 and a biography is included in the program. The concert featured performances of musical selections including 'William Tell Overture', 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', 'Dove Sono' and 'Peer Gynt Suite'. Short descriptions of each piece, composers and the story behind the music accompany each entry in the program.
