Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 213 Quartermaster Sergeant Elias Judell, 9th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF. Collection consists of an original handwritten diary kept by Judell, who was Killed in Action [KIA] at Gallipoli on 9 August 1915. The diary includes mention of Judell's embarkation, how he and fellow soldiers passed the time en route from Australia, brief lists about the mens' rations as well as horse fodder, and short entries on training related topics. The last entries recorded in the diary were made in March 1915.
