Bombardier (Bdr) Laurence Oliver Bryant is welcomed home to Stanhope. Bdr Bryant was diagnosed as medically unfit due to an incurable heart condition caused by his military service and was invalided back to Australia, departing from England in August 1918, arriving in Australia on 11 October. The stripes on the forearm of his right sleeve denote years of service. He died at Kyabram on 27 October 1918 aged 22 years.
