3705 Bombardier (Bdr) Laurence Oliver Bryant leaves the train and is welcomed home to Stanhope. In the foreground a young boy holds a British flag. Laurence Bryant was designated medically unfit with an incurable heart condition caused by his military service, and he departed from England in August 1918, arriving in Australia on 11 October. He died at Kyabram on 27 October 1918 aged 22 years.
