Description

Group portrait of the "Wild and Woolly Thirds" at Cootamundra Military Camp, NSW, September 1915. Identified front row, centre (holding rifle) is 4032 Private Daniel Taylor Munro. Later allotted to the 4th Battalion, Pte Munro was wounded while serving in France and invalided to Australia in March 1919. While undergoing surgery at the No. 4 Australian General Hospital, Randwick NSW, Pte Munro died of heart failure, aged 22, on 15 August 1919.
