History / Summary
Associated with the service of Leslie Arnold Redmond, from Crow’s Nest, North Sydney, NSW. Redmond enlisted on 7 September 1914 as a private with A Company, 13 Battalion. The unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board Transport A38 Ulysses on 22 December 1914.
After training in Egypt, he served on Gallipoli where he sustained penetrating chest and abdomen wounds on 2 May 1915. He returned to Australia in July 1915 on board HT Ballarat and was discharged as medically unfit due to his wounds in September 1916.
