Outdoor portrait of NX26296 Sapper (Spr) John Alexander Connelly, 2/1 Boring Section, Royal Australian Engineers, of Woolwich, NSW. A boot repairer and qualified borer in civilian life, Spr Connelly enlisted on 18 June 1940. On 13 April 1942 he died of illnes at the 113th Australian General Hospital (AGH) at Concord West, NSW. He was aged 41.
