Studio portrait of 4904 Private (Pte) William Taylor, 16th Battalion, of Perth, WA. An engine cleaner prior to enlistment he embarked with the 15th Reinforcements on HMAT Ulysses (A38) on 14 April 1916. Pte Taylor was killed in action on 28 September 1917, aged 25 years. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the The Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial (Panel 17), Belgium.
