Informal group portrait of men from 5 RAR prior to Operation Surfside (12 April - 2 May 1969). The operation, a reconnaissance-in-force, took place place fifteen miles south east of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) Base at Nui Dat. The identities of the men are unknown.
