Informal outdoor portrait of VX36507 Acting Corporal (A/Cpl) Peter Athol Forbes, 2/6 Battalion, of Hawthorn, Vic. He was a member of the Citizens' Military Force before enlisting in the 2nd AIF in July 1940. A/Cpl Forbes was killed in action in the Wau region of New Guinea on 29 January 1943. He was 22 years of age.
