Informal outdoor portrait of 324 Trooper (Tpr) James Bryant Pulleine, 9th Light Horse Regiment, of Murray Bridge, SA. A stockman prior to enlistment, he embarked with B Company on HMAT Karroo (A10) on 11 February 1915. He was wounded in action on 22 June 1915 and returned to duty on 24 August. Tpr Pulleine was killed in action at Gallipoli on 29 August 1915, aged 19.
