Studio portrait of 2nd Lieutenant John Charles Davidson, 1st Battalion of Bellinger, NSW. A carpenter prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Aeneas (A60) on 20 December 1915. He died in France on 3 June 1916 of gunshot wounds received during range practice, aged 21. He is buried in the Hazebrouck Communal Cemetery, France.
