Studio portrait of 3381 Private (later Corporal) Alfred Lucas, 1st Battalion of Parramatta, NSW. A clerk prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Themistocles (A32) on 5 October 1915. He was killed in action at Gueudecourt, France on 5 November 1916, aged 29. He is buried in the Grevillers British Cemetery, France.
