Studio portrait of 2582 Private Frank Mills, 3rd Battalion of Parramatta, NSW, brother of 4104 Private Robert George Mills (died of wounds on 25 December 1916, see P08624.085). A carpenter prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Seang Choon (A49) on 11 February 1915. He was killed in action on 22 July 1916 at Pozieres, France, aged 24. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
