Description
Studio portrait of 1997 Private Cecil Ross Quinn, 18th Battalion of Auburn, NSW, brother of 3975 Pte Leslie Quinn, (killed in action on 29 June 1916, see P08624.104). A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Runic (A54) on 9 August 1915. He was killed in action on 3 August 1916 at Pozieres, France, aged 22. Post war his body was not recovered and he is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
