Studio portrait of 3246 Private William Roy Doughan, 55th Battalion of Kogarah, NSW. A clerk prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Suevic (A29) on 11 November 1916. He was killed by a shell on 26 September 1917 while in action, at Polygon Wood, Belgium, aged 23. He is buried in the Aeroplane Cemetery, Belgium.
