Studio portrait of 6330 Private Percy James Hesselwood, 19th Battalion of South Granville, NSW. An engine driver prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Suevic (A 29) on 11 November 1916. He was killed in action by sniper fire at Daisy Wood near Passchendaele, Belgium, on 9 October 1917, aged 22. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
