Studio portrait of 5112 Private Richard George Hunt, 3rd (later 55th) Battalion of Alexandria, NSW. A station hand prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard SS Makarini on 1 April 1916. He was admitted to the 45th Casualty Clearing Station, France with pleuro-pneumonia on 29 November 1916 and died of the disease on 5 December 1916, aged 22. He is buried in the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
