Studio portrait of 1768 Private Ernest Thomas Lakey, 3rd Battalion of Granville, NSW. Prior to enlisting, he was a railway employee. He was killed in action at Gallipoli, Turkey, on 7 August 1915, aged 19. Post war his grave was not located and he is remembered with honour in the Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
