Studio portrait of 353 Private (later Trooper) Frederick Sellers, 1st Light Horse Regiment of South Granville, NSW. A bricklayer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Star of Victoria (A16) on 20 October 1914. He was wounded in action at Gallipoli, Turkey on 29 May 1915 and died of wounds at sea off Gaba Tepe, Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey, aged 23. He was buried at sea and is remembered with honour on the Lone Pine Memorial, Turkey.
