Studio portrait of 3235 Private William Godfrey Bartlett, 3rd Battalion of Auburn, NSW. A tailor prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Euripides (A14) on 2 November 1915. He was killed in action on 21 July 1916 near Albert, France, aged 27. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
