Studio portrait of 3815 Private William Henry Harris, 2nd Battalion of Auburn, NSW. A railway shunter prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Medic (A7) on 30 December 1915. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France on 23 July 1916, aged 36. He is buried in the Serre Road Cemetery No 2, France.
