Studio portrait of 7839 Private Harold Lancelot Stevens, 4th Battalion of Auburn, NSW. A machinist prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor (A71) on 28 February 1918. He was killed in action on 23 August 1918 during the advance at Proyart, France, aged 21. He is buried in Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France.
