Studio portrait of 1872 Private Robert Leslie Wilson, 35th Battalion of Auburn, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Port Sydney (A15) on 4 September 1916. He was killed in action, on 25 May 1917, near Ploegsteert, Belgium, aged 24. He is buried in the Strand Military Cemetery, Belgium.
