Studio portrait of 7007 Sergeant James David Cook, 19th Battalion of Llandilo via St Marys, NSW. A professional soldier, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Nestor (A71) on 28 February 1918. On 8 August 1918, he was killed in action near Amiens, France, aged 23. He is buried in the Crucifix Corner Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, France.
