Studio portrait of 3068 Private (later Lance Corporal) James Horam, 13th Battalion of Lidcombe, NSW. A builder prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Ballarat (A70) on 6 September 1915. He was killed in action, at Mouquet Farm, Pozieres, France on 14 August 1916, aged 42. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
