Studio portrait of 5137 Private George Thomas Laman, 2nd Battalion of Lidcombe, NSW. A warehouseman prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Nestor (A71) on 9 April 1916. He was killed in action, on 24 December 1916, at Guedecourt, near Bapaume, France, aged 22. He is buried in the Bancourt British Cemetery, France.
