Studio portrait of 4714 Private Vivian Gordon Hosking 19th Battalion of Burwood, NSW. A clerk prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 13 April 1916. Pte Hosking returned to Australia on 14 January 1917 due to illness. He died in Caulfield Military Hospital, Melbourne, Victoria on 10 March 1917, aged 20. He is buried in the Coburg General Cemetery, Melbourne, Victoria.
