Studio portrait of 2276 Private Henry James Jackson 19th Battalion of Liverpool, NSW. A horse-driver prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Argyllshire (A8) on 30 September 1915 Pte Jackson was killed in action near Armentieres, France on 28 May 1916, aged 23. He is buried in the Brewery Orchard Cemetery, Bois-Grenier, France.
