Studio portrait of 6558 Private Daniel McMaster Muir 13th Battalion of Liverpool, NSW. A boiler maker prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 7 October 1916. Pte Muir was killed in action at Guedecourt, France on 4 February 1917, aged 27. He is buried in the Bancourt British Cemetery, France.
