Studio portrait of 5744 Private 4th Battalion of Liverpool, NSW. A painter prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Kyarra (A55) on 3 June 1916. Pte was killed in action during the second battle of Bullecourt, France on 6 May 1917, aged 36. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers Bretonneux Memorial.
