Studio portrait of 1650 Private George Albert Ryman 13th (later 45th) Battalion of Liverpool, NSW. A wagon driver prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Seang Choon (A49) on 11 February 1915. Pte Ryman, died of small pox at the 54th Casualty Clearing Station, Serapeum, Alexandria, Egypt on 3 May 1916, aged 24. He is buried in the Ismailia War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
