Studio portrait of 390 Trooper (Tpr) Campbell Throsby 7th Australian Light Horse of Marathon Station, Qld. A station manager prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Ayreshire (A33) on 20 December 1914. Tpr Throsby died of dysentry at the 1st Australian General Hospital, Cairo, Egypt on 29 February 1916, aged 32. He is buried in the Cairo War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
