Studio portrait of 3723 Private Alexander Duckworth, 1st Battalion of Darlinghurst, NSW. A railway employee prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard RMS Mooltan on 11 December 1915. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France on 22 July 1916, aged 34. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
