Studio portrait of 302 Bugler (later Private) Arthur Gordon Scragg, 30th Battalion of Canley Vale, NSW. A driver prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Beltana (A72) on 9 November 1915. He was killed in action on 26 September 1917, at Polygon Wood, Belgium, aged 20. He is buried in the Birr Cross Roads Cemetery, Belgium.
