Studio portrait of 5292 Private Robert Archibald, 18th Battalion of Canley Vale, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Wiltshire (A18) on 22 August 1916. He was killed in action on 19 May 1918, during heavy fighting in the Morlancourt area of the Ville Sur Ancre Sector, France, aged 26. He is buried in the Dive Copse British Cemetery Sailly-le-Sec, France.
