Studio portrait of 6060 Private Frank Albert Coleman, 22nd Battalion of Smithfield, NSW. A clerk prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Argyllshire (A8) on 31 October 1916. He was killed in action at Westhoek Ridge, Ypres, Belgium on 18 September 1917, aged 22. He is buried in the Hooge Crater Cemetery, Belgium. His brother, 4993 Pte Eric Arthur Coleman was killed in action on 5 May 1917. See (P09447.001.
