Studio portrait of 168 Private (Pte) Norman Henry Mazlin, 15th Battalion, of Herberton, Qld. A farmer prior to enlisting in September 1914, Pte Mazlin and his brother 167 Pte Leslie Wright Mazlin, also 15th Battalion, embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40) on 22 December 1914. Pte Norman Mazlin was killed in action at Gallipoli on 8 August 1915, aged 23. Pte Leslie Mazlin was killed in action at Gallipoli on 30 April 1915, aged 21.
