Studio portrait of F2324/17 Engine Room Artificer 4th Class (ERA4) Alfred (Alf) Horwood Shepherd, of Western Australia. ERA4 Shepherd enlisted in the RAN on 2 September 1939. ERA4 Shepherd was killed in action during the HMAS Sydney's engagement with the German auxiliary cruiser HSK Kormoran on 19 November 1941. He was aged 24.
