Studio portrait of the bride and groom, Edith Jane Karl and William James Redgrave and their wedding party. Identified left to right: ?Laura Redgrave; Alfred Charles Redgrave, William and Edith; Francis William Karl and Lena Sophia Karl. Alfred later enlisted in the AIF serving as 2385 Private (Pte) Redgrave, 43rd Battalion. A baker from Mt Lawley, WA, he embarked from Fremantle with the 4th Reinforcements on HMAT Port Melbourne (A16) on 30 October 1916. Pte Redgrave was killed in action on 31 July 1917, aged 34. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the The Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
