Studio portrait of 518 Private (Pte) Hamish (James) MacNab, D Company, 7th Battalion, of Ascot Vale, Vic. A carpenter prior to enlistment he embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Hororata (A20) on 19 October 1914. Pte McNab was reported missing and killed in action on 25 April 1915, he was 19 years of age. Pte McNab has no known grave and his name is commorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
