Studio portrait of 419700 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Ronald Sutton Camier, RAAF, attached to 90 Squadron RAF. Flt Sgt Camier was from East St Kilda, Vic, and was an employee of the bank of Australasia prior to enlisting on September 12 1942. He embarked for England in August 1943 and was reported missing presumed dead, after failing to return from a raid on August 13 1944. He was aged 20 years. Flt Sgt Camier has no known grave and is commemorated at Becklingen Cemetery, Niedersachsen, Germany. This image was taken from 'The Ivanarian', a magazine of the Ivanhoe Grammar School in Melbourne, Vic. During the Second World War the school honoured 'old boys' by including in the Ivanarian a short biographical piece and in many cases a portrait of those who had enlisted and died.
