Studio portrait of 403153 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Edgar Henry Vickers, Pilot of No. 16 Operational Training Unit, RAAF, of Singleton, NSW. A dairy farmer prior to enlistment from Sydney on 9 December 1940. Flt Sgt Vickers and his crew of five were all presumed dead lost to enemy action when the Wellington Dv 736 aircraft failed to return from operations to Dusseldorf, Germany, on the night of 31 July/ 1 August 1942, he was 23 years of age.
