Studio portrait of 24385 Able Seaman (AB) Herbert (Bruiser) Turk, HMAS Sydney, RAN, of Denman, NSW. He enlisted from Sydney on 6 November 1939. On 20 November 1941 all 645 personnel onboard HMAS Sydney were lost following an engagement with the German cruiser Kormoran off the coast of Western Australia. AB Turk was 20 years of age.
