Informal portrait of S3505 Able Seaman (AB) Graham Russell Bennie, HMAS Sydney, of Hurstville, NSW. Graham Bennie enlisted on 2 September 1939 and joined the crew of HMAS Sydney on 29 July 1940. AB Bennie was one of 645 crew members who lost their lives following the engagement between HMAS Sydney and the German cruiser Kormoran off the coast of Western Australia on 20 November 1941. AB Bennie was 20 years of age.
