Studio portrait of 9 Private (Pte) Edgar Watson Bell, C Company, 16th Battalion, of Perth, WA. A packer prior to enlistment he embarked from Melbourne, Vic, aboard HMAT Ceramic on 22 December 1914. Pte Bell was killed in action in Gallipoli on 2 May 1915, aged 34. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
