Studio portrait of 3451A Private (Pte) James Alexander Moore, 52nd Battalion, of Moss Vale, NSW. A motor mechanic prior to enlistment he embarked from Sydney with the 8th Reinforcements on HMAT Hororata (A20) on 14 June 1917. Pte Moore was killed in action on 5 April 1918, aged 22. He has no known grave and his name is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
